No Family Fights Alone.
Violence Against Civilians Is
Never
Justified.
RJPMC firmly believes that there is never a justification for the use of lethal force against a civilian population. It doesn’t matter if someone is having a mental health crisis. It doesn’t matter if someone resists. It doesn’t matter if someone has a gun.
We will never participate in the system of societal gaslighting and victim blaming that seeks to justify and normalize police violence. If you or someone you know has been harmed by law enforcement, we stand with you—regardless of the circumstances.
Who We Are.
We are the first Black-led, statewide civil rights legal clinic in Washington dedicated to supporting families impacted by police violence. Founded in memory of Carlos Hunter—killed by police in 2019—RJPMC exists to expose injustice, investigate misconduct, and demand systemic change. We offer:
- Legal case assessments and attorney referrals
- Investigative guidance and documentation support
- Trauma-informed advocacy rooted in lived experience
- Public education, community organizing, and policy reform
Our work is grounded in a single truth:
No badge should silence the truth.
Our Why.
Every family we serve is a reminder that police misconduct is not just a policy issue—it’s personal, generational, and deeply racialized. We fight:
- So no parent dies holding their child.
- So mental health isn’t met with deadly force.
- So welfare checks don’t leave families shattered.
- So confusion, tools, or prior records aren’t used as justification for execution.
We are not activists by choice. We are survivors turned truth-tellers. We are grief turned into fire. We are the resistance born from the ashes of loved ones we’ll never hold again.
We will not rest.
We will not be silent.
We will not stop.
